From Richard Dugal: I am pleased to report that our lake is in good health. However, we must continue our efforts and become aware of the impact of human activity on its health. It remains important to follow the guidelines for shoreline development, boat washing and to use household products that have less impact on the environment. Climate change can accelerate the adverse effects of certain activities on lake water quality. It is therefore important to be vigilant and to make the right choices to preserve our lake.
I wish you a great summer and I look forward to seeing you in person again!
From the Ministry: According to the results obtained, Lac des Îles shows little or no signs of eutrophication. This lake is to be protected. In order to keep state and uses, the MELCC recommends the adoption of preventive measures to limit the intake of nutrients from human activities.
